Contact us- Which hosting control panels do you offer?
You can buy a Plesk or cPanel licence when you order your server, or at a later time when the need arises. A control panel gives you a web interface for managing websites, email accounts and databases, so you do not have to do everything from the command line.
- Which billing panels do you offer?
We offer WHMCS as a billing panel for your dedicated server. You can purchase the licence from us at a minimal cost and install the application on your server. WHMCS handles customer sign-ups, invoices, payments and support tickets, which makes it a good fit if you plan to sell hosting or other services from your server.
- What are the functions of the Server Administration Panel?
Every server comes with a Server Administration Panel by default. It lets you carry out important administration tasks and monitor resource use, including CPU, memory, storage and inode usage shown in charts, along with your IP and storage details (storage details for HDD servers only). You can also rebuild or restart the server, open a web-based VNC console and reset your access credentials from it.
- Can I configure my own RAID for drives?
Our dedicated servers come pre-configured with RAID 1, which mirrors your data across two drives so that it stays available if one drive fails. At present we do not allow customisation of the RAID level. If you need a different setup, let us know: we welcome requests for new features, as they help us serve you better.
- What is the port speed of the server?
The server's uplink port speed is up to 1 Gbps. The port speed is the maximum rate at which data can travel between your server and the internet, so a fast port helps when you serve large files or many visitors at the same time.
- How long does it take for the server to be ready?
After payment, your server is provisioned in about 30 minutes, and you can then access it over SSH. The disk resize operation may still be running in the background for a while after provisioning.
- What is the level of support that you provide with the server?
To keep your server running and reachable, we are available 24x7 for any hardware, network, booting, operating system or login issues. Our system administration support will also help you with basic cPanel and firewall setup and with problems related to them. To get help, open a support ticket from your client area.
- Is Additional Storage available for all server configurations?
No. Additional storage is not available for every server configuration. At present it is offered only on selected servers. To find out whether it is available for the server you are interested in, please contact our support team. We welcome requests for new features, as they help us serve you better.
- Can I use a Dedicated Server for email marketing?
A dedicated server can be used for websites, databases, custom applications, e-commerce, DNS, file storage and email. Email use, however, must be limited to personal, organisational or professional purposes. Using a dedicated server to send mass email or marketing campaigns is not recommended and can attract penalties.
- Can I use virtualisation software on the server?
Our dedicated servers are virtualised on a one-to-one basis, which means one virtual machine per physical server. Because of this, and because of network restrictions on the host system, nested virtualisation (running your own virtual machines inside the server) will not work.
- Do you provide any backup service?
We do not offer a backup solution for dedicated servers at the moment. We strongly recommend that you maintain a remote backup of your data, stored somewhere other than the server itself, so that you can recover quickly if anything goes wrong. A scheduled, automatic backup to separate storage is the safest approach.
